Aproximately 3 miles north of coast, at the border of Los Zacatitos, a main trunk road is being cut through the desert. According to the official map, this main trunk road will connect to the main Highway 1 (from Airport to San Jose) with planned major access roads to the communities of La Laguna, Los Zacatitos, and beyond.

Lacking a Homeowner's Association or community representation, the residents of Los Zacatitos have not been consulted or formally informed as to this new road development or it's impact on future access to the beach road (the 'East Cape Highway') which has been the historical connection from the East Cape to La Playita and San Jose del Cabo.
