Merry X-mas with SMOG

As we awoke on Christmas Day, the air was rancid with odor, the distant dump was burning and spewing smog towards our coastal communities and it felt like 'same old problem' headed towards the new year.

Fortunately for Los Zacatitos, the early-off shore wind veered west towards the unfortunate San Jose del Cabo. However, fortunes shift with the wind. By 8 a.m., with the desert warming, the smog began to drop down to ground level and spread out for a X-Mas smell-o-rama, forcing some of us to leave for the day.

The dump re-ignited at around 10 a.m., plume pointed upward and burned and smoldered until late afternoon. By nightfall, the wind shifts off-shore. The following morning's smog and another smell-o-rama succintly fulfilled that promise.
